Message from the Hospital Director, Dr. Dean Hendrickson

Director Hendrickson

Fall is a particularly interesting time for us. We have our veterinary
students in their third year of study joining the senior veterinary
students who train at the hospital all year long. And this
year starting September 2, 2008, we will begin construction on our
client parking lot to improve your access to the hospital whether you
are coming for a regular appointment or an emergency at any time of the
day or night. I sincerely apologize for the temporary inconvenience and
I appreciate everyone's patience as we ask you to enter from Bay Farm
Road, just east of the normal Drake Rd. hospital entrance (map link).

Despite the temporary inconvenience, the parking lot construction makes
me extremely excited for our future as we take another step toward our
South Campus Construction Campaign that will transform our veterinary
medical center. Programs and services within the hospital have seen a
substantial increase in demand during the last 10 years. Advances in
technology and medicine require new equipment and space. Construction of
the Diagnostic Medicine Center is already well underway and this
facility will serve veterinarians around the state. The long range
development plan will also include remodeling and expanding the current
hospital to better serve our small animal patients, constructing a
brand-new equine veterinary medical/sports medicine complex and building
a new agricultural animal complex. I invite you to explore our hospital
and our vision for the future that will undoubtedly aid in
our ability to provide you with the same outstanding care you have come
to expect.

Thank you for your patronage and support.
Sincerely,
Dean Hendrickson, DVM, MS
Interim Director
