The Veterinary Medical Center at Colorado State University maintains a community practice based blood donor program. The pets that donate to this program and their owners are amazing and their efforts have saved countless lives.

The Center for Companion Animal Studies is partnering with 2 corporate sponsors to support this program.

Pfizer Animal Health provides free heartworm, flea control and internal parasite control products for the cats in the program.

HESKA Corporation provides an automated chemistry analyzer to the program so that we can provide free blood tests yearly to the owners.

The "Center" provides yearly free infectious disease tests and research associate time to run the chemistry analyzer for the program.

Please see the following paper for information concerning the blood donor testing recommendations from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
