Companion Animal Studies Award

This award is given yearly to a Senior PVM student that has shown exceptional ability in performance of clinical research during their time in the PVM program. The recipient receives a $250 award and a certificate.

The recipient in 2008 was Dr. Sara Almon who studied the use of a probiotic (FortiFlora, Nestle/Purina PetCare) in the control of diarrhea in dogs housed in shelters.

The recipient in 2009 was Dr. Willem Becker who was involved in several projects involved small animal anesthesia.
