Fall Greetings from the Equine Hospital!

I hope you have had a wonderful summer of riding and/or competing your horses. As the weather turns colder, remember that fall is great time to have any lameness problems that may have developed through the summer evaluated, so that these injuries can be properly rehabilitated through the colder months. We have several veterinarians at the hospital that specialize in lameness conditions in horses. We encourage you to bring your own farrier if you so chose, as we are happy to work closely with them to resolve any foot problems your horse may have. We also have a very qualified farrier that is at the hospital 3 days a week that can also help with foot and shoeing concerns. Just contact our reception desk at 970-297-4471 to make an appointment for us to evaluate and treat your horse.

Currently, the south entrance into the hospital is getting a new face lift with construction of a new parking lot and is not accessible. If you are coming to the hospital, please contact our reception desk for specific directions to get to the equine hospital or you can download a map.

In an attempt to serve you better we have developed admission packets that will be given to you when you arrive at the hospital. They will contain information about the personnel and services at the hospital as well as what to expect from your visit. Comment cards will be included in the packet as we wish to get feedback from you on ways to improve our services in the future. If you have been at the hospital in past and have similar ideas, please feel free to contact me directly with your suggestions.

If you have any questions about the services we provide, how to make an appointment to have your horse evaluated, or how to contact a particular faculty member, please feel free to contact me. Please remember that we are not just a referral hospital and anyone can bring their horse to our facility. In addition, you will also no longer need to wait in line at the business office to pay your bill as our front desk receptionists will take care of you from start to finish. This will hopefully streamline the process and provide you with more consistent and timely service during your visit. Thank you and we hope to see you soon.
