Dr. Patrick M. McCue

Dr. McCue graduated from veterinary school at the University of California, Davis, in 1986. He subsequently completed an internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and a residency in Equine Reproduction at the University of California, Davis. He received a PhD in Comparative Pathology, with an emphasis on reproductive endocrinology and ovarian pathology in the mare, from UC-Davis in 1992.
Dr. McCue joined the faculty at Colorado State University as an assistant professor in 1994 and was promoted to associate professor in 2000. He is the author or co-author of over 100 refereed publications, textbook chapters, scientific proceedings chapters and abstracts. He has been the recipient of the Carl J. Norden Distinguished Teacher Award and twice the recipient of the AAEP Faculty Award for excellence in teaching twice while at CSU. He is the coordinator of the Clinical Reproduction Service at the Equine Reproduction Laboratory and provides equine theriogenology expertise to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at CSU. Dr. McCue is also actively involved in teaching undergraduate, graduate and veterinary students, providing continuing education for horse owners and veterinarians and conducting research in equine reproduction. In addition, he writes a monthly column called 'The Breeding Shed' for the American Quarter Horse Journal.
Dr. McCue is on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Equine Practitioners and has served on the Reproduction, Dentistry and Research committees of the AAEP. He is also on the editorial board for the Journal of Equine Veterinary Science.
